Back Exercises Make The Back Stronger

The National Institute of Health says that back pain affects about 80% of Americans at some point in their lives. People get back pain out of nowhere and without any warning signs. Instead of taking painkillers, people with back pain should use their body’s ability to heal itself and do back exercises to strengthen their bodies. Back exercises like acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic care, osteopathic care, and certain other physical exercises are safer ways to treat back pain.

Exercises to strengthen the back: The Basics

One of the best ways to get rid of back pain and live a healthy life is to do back exercises. It’s important to do exercises within a range of motion so that the painful back doesn’t get even worse. If you hurt while doing some stretching steps, you should stop right away. Even though it may be hard to do the steps slowly and steadily, you should avoid sudden movements and jerks when doing back exercises.

People with lower back problems have different problems when they work out. It’s important to start working out slowly and build up your muscle strength. Always talk to your trainer before doing back exercises. It’s also important to know that back pain doesn’t happen overnight, so it will also take time to heal the back.

One back exercise that stretches your back muscles in a gentle way is:

  • Bend your knees and lie on your back.
  • Slowly bring your left knee up to your chest while pressing your lower back firmly against the floor.
  • Stay where you are for 5 seconds.
  • Just chill out and do the exercise again with your right knee.
  • This exercise should be done 10 times on each leg.
