Movie Plot
The film will pick up some time after the conclusion of the previous film, where viewers will recall that the Minions first saw a young Gru.
According to Universal, the plot would follow a young Gru as he grows up in the 1970s, idolizing his favorite supervillain group, The Vicious 6. Gru employs his adorable yellow assistants, the Minions, to prove that he is sufficiently nasty to join the club. When the group removes Wild Knuckles as leader, Gru sees an opportunity. Gru outwits the organization, steals a stone from them, and in the process makes enemies with some of the most powerful supervillains. Gru is compelled to seek advice from Wild Knuckles and his loyal Minions in order to confront a new menace.
In this film, fans of the Despicable Me franchise may anticipate seeing all of their favorite franchise elements.
