Movie Plot
Unfortunately, the trailer for Thor 4 never showed nor mentioned Bale’s character Gorr. This, however, indicates that Marvel is truly building up to the disclosure of this DC-hero-turned-Marvel-villain. Thor 4 will be Gorr’s first live-action appearance, which could imply we’ll get a glimpse of his origin. In the comics, Gorr promises to eradicate all gods after they fail to aid those in need, including his dying family. Gorr is capable of slaying any god, including Asgardians, with the All-Black the Necrosword. Despite the secrecy surrounding him, audiences can predict that Gorr and his story will be one of the primary focal points of Thor 4’s plot.
In the meantime, the debut of Foster’s Mighty Thor will be an important element of the film. After Thor loses the ability to lift Mjolnir, Foster begins to wield it in the comic books. The hammer talks with her telepathically, and she recognizes that she is worthy of Mjolnir and is granted Thor’s powers. Although this is the comic book story arc, it will most likely be altered for the film adaptation. Where Foster has been after the events of Thor: The Dark World and how she became the Mighty Thor will likely play a significant role in Thor 4’s plot.
The Guardians, Valkyrie, Korg, and Zeus appear to play significant roles in the plot of Thor 4, and we can’t wait. Russell Crowe’s Zeus and Mount Olympus were featured briefly in the Thor 4 trailer. Unknown is Zeus’s precise role in the film, however he may be assisting Thor in his fight against Gorr. With two gods of thunder in the film, it is inevitable that there will be some divine rivalry. Likewise, the Guardians will also appear, but it is unclear what their tasks entail. However, Thor 4 could act as an introduction to Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth cinematic adventure starring Thor. In this flick, he will join with old and new allies in order to take on one of his most formidable adversaries to date. Thor 4 will likely resolve any remaining plot threads from the Thor film series, including Thor and Foster’s narrative arc. In addition, it may set up the MCU’s new Thor and act as a springboard for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and future multiverse films.
